Bond-Child ... is that near Tacoma, or is their another old drive-in that I don't know about?
I want somebody to show me what the average increase in property taxes were by town. I think it might put an end to some of this the people of Appy will pay to, they will, but I wager the property taxes in Wise and Big Stone Gap went up more than those in Appalachia and Pound.

Here ya go .....
Using the calculator at Loan Calculator ...
Borrowing 100M for 20 years at 4% produces a monthly payment of $605,980.33. That's $7,271,764 per year. So the 20 year total is ...
$145,435,280, or 45%.

On a semi-related matter, here's a cost update.
The new Mingo Central HS, which will consolidate Matewan, Gilbert,
Williamson & Burch in 2 years, just broke ground. It'll be 173,000 square feet and have about 65 classrooms, which includes a new Career Center. Bids totalled $35 million.
$35M Mingo Central High technically under construction
of course the appy people are gonna be babies over this, just because the school is in big stone.
it doesnt matter that the school will be easily accesible from the highways and other locale's, and the school will be great and nice and HELP THE KIDS, it doesnt matter.
it blows my mind;
PV people, Wise people arent all upset about this, and we have more legacy than Appalachia or pound or SP.
The PV people are losing just as much as the Appy people; the school is not gonna be named PV, its gonna be Wise Co somethin
and if appalachia was a practical location for the new school, i would be all for it; but its simply not practical, and the appy citizens who cant see this, i hope you eventually see the light.
im young, i live in the co, I, ME, MYSELF is gonna be footing most of the bill for this, not you old people who will die before its paid off.
